Took the pup with the girl to Algonquin Park after a couple days at the cottage. Just a quick overnighter along the Western Uplands Trail, camping at Steeprise Lake. 10km in, 10km out. I think we’ve decided to never do the Western Uplands again. Hiking through the forest just isn’t for us. Stare at your feet all day, not much view through the forest, few places to stop for water, and the pack is on your back all day. I’d rather mix it up with paddling and portaging, have access to water most of the day, and cover more varied terrain.
