At the end of September, I traveled with the Connected in Motion crew to Canmore, AB for their Western Slipstream… providing outdoor education experiences for people with Type 1 Diabetes. Here are some photos from the trip.

Thanks to the Alpine Club of Canada for providing the accomodations.

Saturday morning involved a big hike up West Wind Pass, although we ended up in the clouds. Along the way, I learned that Joanne was not only a Type 1, but also an ultra-runner, having completed the Canadian Death Race in under 24 hours. She was up for a bit of a run along the way.

Sunday morning started with a SUP session on the Spray Lakes Reservoir with Soul Flow Paddle Co. A good chance to test out the new DIY underwater housing and I’m happy to report the camera came away dry. A hike up to Grassi Lakes followed the morning paddle.

After wrapping up our Western Slipstream event, our staff crew decided to explore a bit more of Alberta, being my first time in the province. We made our way out to Morraine Lake. An incredible location. Here is Julie, long-time friend and newest member to the Connected in Motion team.
